If the reporter as Jira-user was linked to CRM contact which is linked to a company, the Company Custom field will be filled in automatically with Reporter's Company. Autocomplete works only on issue creation and reporter changing, all other issue changes do not affect field autocomplete. You can create a new one or you can allocate the user to another one. In the web-panel information displays up to date.

Once you've installed CRM for JIRA Cloud, the custom field "Company" was created automatically in Custom fields (JIRA administration/Issues/Custom fields). You can define screens in case if you want to show information about reporter's company in the Custom field, by default reporter's company is showing in a web-panel on the right-hand side of the request. You can select a company name from the drop-down list of all companies which was added in the Companies Directory or create a new one.

In web-panel information about reporters' company displays up to date. You can link a particular user with any Company in a Contacts' directory, user could be added only to one company. 

  1. If the reporter has no company linked in Contacts Directory, you have to do that.
  2. You can create a new Company or you can allocate the user to another one. In the web-panel information displays up to date.

Custom field

Autocomplete of Custom field works only on issue creation and reporter changing actions, all other issue changes do not affect field autocomplete.
